Purpose of the job
Account Manager is accountable for delivering stretch volume and NOS goals, superior coverage and in-store presence in all retail and wholesale customers in her/his section. This is achieved by delivering excellence in the Sales Fundamentals (Distribution, Shelving, Pricing and Merchandising) and building strong collaborative customer relationships.
Key responsibilities:
Build the business
Sell new product/price/conceptual Initiative to meet or exceed introductory volume and DPSM objectives in all customers / distributors in her/his section
Deliver with excellence Retail Performance Standards (RPS) to build superior in-store presence in all customers / distributors in her/his section
Sell, implement, and evaluate joint business plans with the customer / distributor to impact stretch volume and NOS goals
Develop strong working relationships with key customer / distributor decision makers – Owners and Buyers
Understand in-depth customer / distributor needs, goals, strategies, systems, specifics in different categories
Lead the customer / distributor to maximize use of CBD funds and programs (BDF, CMF, etc.) to deliver sustainable volume growth
Develop and implement Category Management projects (efficient assortment, plan-o-grams, shelf management projects and shelving recommendations) to deliver Category and customer / distributor objectives
Develop and implement creative merchandising plans to meet or exceed Category and customer / distributor objectives
Understand and improve customer / distributor work processes to best deliver Sales Fundamentals
Sustain sufficient level of forward stock to avoid OOS
Plan, track, collect and document with discipline sales funds spending – BDF, CMF, DSD.
Provide early feedback for P&G corporate initiatives through a broad understanding of the local market and Competition
Timely forecasting and communication of any business change that can impact her/his monthly section business.
Timely tracking of any Competitive activity and information
Timely reporting to Team Leaders and MS&P organization
Build the organization
- Develop category expertise.
- Proactively search, share and re-apply the most effective concepts/initiatives among peers and other team members
- Constantly develop personal capability and train/coach others in his/her area(s) of expertise to deliver outstanding business results
