SALARY: *Not Ordinarily Resident: FP-AA (Starting salary to be determined by Washington)
Ordinarily Resident (OR): Starting Salary – 7,376 USD per year

The U.S. Mission Addis Ababa is seeking an individual for employment in country for the position of Guard Driver in the Regional Security Office of the Embassy.
BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION
The Guard Driver serves as a member of the U.S. Embassy Local Guard Force (LGF) under the Regional Security Office (RSO). Incumbent operates under the direct supervision of the Local Guard Force (LGF) Supervisor, performs security guard duties while serving as a driver for Local Guard Force (LGF) Shift Commander while on mobile patrol or responding to emergency situations. Incumbent is also responsible for transporting LGF relief guards, RSO and Local Security Office personnel, and other individuals as directed by the RSO.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
NOTE: Applicants must address each required qualification listed below with specific and comprehensive information supporting each item. Failure to do so may result in a determination that the applicant is not qualified.
1. Education: Completion of Secondary School is required.
2. Experience: At least 2 years work experience in driving passengers and cargo is required.
3. Language: Level 3 (Good Working Knowledge) of Amharic and English languages are required. (English language proficiency will be tested).
4. Skills and Abilities: Driving skill, must possess 3rd class Ethiopian driver’s license and have a good knowledge of Ethiopian traffic regulations. (Driving test will be administered)
5. Knowledge: A good knowledge of the city and alternate routes to Host Government ministries, agencies, diplomatic and international organizations. Good knowledge of roads to other cities.

2. Current OR employees serving a probationary period are not eligible to apply. Current OR employees with an Overall Summary Rating of Needs Improvement or Unsatisfactory on their most recent Employee Performance Report (EPR) are not eligible to apply.
3. Current NOR employees hired on a Family Member Appointment (FMA) or a Personal Service Agreement (PSA) are not eligible to apply within the first 90 calendar days of their employment, unless they have a When Actually Employed (WAE) work schedule.
